Dr.Sowmya J

Dr Sowmya J is the first DM Pediatric Oncologist practising in Mysuru. She did her graduation from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Bengaluru (2008-2013), where she bagged a gold medal and post graduation(MD) from Government Medical College ,Mysuru (2015-2018). She pursued her super specialisation (DM) in Pediatric Oncology(2021-2023) from the prestigious Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, which is the largest referral centre providing oncology services in the state and one of the premiere institutes in the country. She has had about 8 years of experience in the field of Paediatrics and more than 3 years of experience in Pediatric Oncology. She is an active member of PHO chapter of IAP(Indian Academy of Pediatrics) and has publications in National and International journals. Her areas of interest are Pediatric Leukemias,Lymphomas, Brain Tumors, Retinoblastoma, Bone and soft tissue sarcomas. Her key focus is on creating awareness about childhood malignancies and providing comprehensive services across all areas of Pediatric Oncology including palliation, rehabilitation and Bone Marrow Transplantation.
